Our Early Childhood Education Certificate Program is designed to provide participants with the essential skills to learn English while also preparing them for a career as an assistant preschool teacher. This comprehensive program combines language acquisition with foundational knowledge in early childhood education, allowing students to build their English proficiency alongside practical teaching techniques. Participants will engage in interactive lessons that cover child development, classroom management, and effective communication strategies, enabling them to support young learners in diverse educational environments. Upon completion, students will earn a certificate, enhancing their qualifications and opening doors to new professional opportunities in early childhood education. Students enrolled in the ECE course must complete 60 student training hours inside the classroom (conveniently located in The Burke Early Childhood Center at YWCA Princeton) with actual preschool students for real-world experience. Please contact Heledona Katro, Director of English as a Second Language and Literacy Programs, with any questions at hkatro@ywcaprinceton.org or 609-497-2100 x306.
