YWCA is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We act every day by raising awareness about the impact of institutional and structural racism and by building community among those who work to advance racial justice. This April, YWCA Princeton invites you to take action for racial justice through Steps 4 Equity, a month-long initiative designed to engage, educate, and empower our community. This event coincides with our annual Stand Against Racism rally offering multiple ways to participate and make a meaningful impact. Scroll down to see how you can join us for one or for all!

The YWCA Racial Justice Challenge helps you build social justice habits focused on race, power, privilege, and leadership, while also fostering a sense of community. It encourages reflection, social responsibility, and collective action to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination. By engaging in this challenge with others, you’ll create a supportive network for learning and growth, working together to make meaningful change.
This year’s theme, "Equity in Action: Exposing Myths and Redefining Justice," pushes us to challenge false narratives, move beyond awareness, and take action to create justice, dignity, and opportunity for all. Participants will dedicate time each day to explore topics related to systemic racism, social justice, and equity through articles, videos, podcasts, and books. Use what you learn to confront harmful myths and make a positive impact in your community.
Prizes awarded to top participants in this challenge!

The Until Justice Just Is Student Competition is a contest designed to encourage high school students to reflect on we can contribute to making justice a reality. This year, participants are invited to submit an essay, video, or photograph that answers the thought-provoking question:
“What does 'until justice just is' mean to you, and how can we take action daily to make justice a reality?”
Students are encouraged to interpret the prompt creatively and provide their unique perspectives on the meaning of justice and how it can be achieved in our community and beyond. Whether through powerful words, compelling images, or inspiring videos, this challenge gives students the opportunity to make their voices heard.

Join us in Princeton for a powerful, community-driven event as we march together from the historic Paul Robeson House to YWCA Princeton, culminating in a Stand Against Racism Rally. This march will serve as a visible and meaningful demonstration of our collective commitment to fighting racism and promoting equity for all. The rally will feature dynamic performances and inspiring speakers, including youth leaders and activists who will share their vision for a more just and inclusive future. This event is open to the public, and we strongly encourage individuals, families, and local organizations to come out, show solidarity, and raise their voices in support of racial justice. Whether you're marching or attending the rally, your presence matters—let’s come together to make a statement and take action toward a more equitable society. Stand up, stand together, and stand against racism!
